A bandanna can be a square you fold, a ready-cut triangle, or a shaped neckerchief for a pet. Choose the shape and set the size.

For a pet bandanna, enter the neck measurement and how far the point drops, and fasten it with a snap or with fabric ties.

How it goes together

These are the maker’s own instructions at the starting size. They change with the options you pick, and the PDF carries the full set with the cover, cutting list and materials list.

  1. Cut on the solid outlines. The hems or seams are included; transfer the top-edge notches and fastening dots if making the pet style.
  2. Turn all four edges 1 cm to the wrong side twice, pressing as you go. Mitre the corners to keep them flat, then stitch close to each inner fold.
  3. The finished square is 55 × 55 cm. Fold it diagonally to make a triangle, then tie the two long corners comfortably.

Fabric suggestions

Outer: Soft stable woven cotton, linen or lightweight chambray. Use a comfortable fabric against skin or fur.

Lining: The pet style uses a second fabric layer so its ties or snap ends can be turned and reinforced.

Interfacing, padding or other layers: The pet snap style includes two small interfacing reinforcement squares at the fasteners.

How each fabric family suits it

The maker’s advice adjusts to the fabric family you pick in the Fabric tab.

Printing it

At the starting size the printed pieces take 12 A4 pages, taped together using the page labels, alignment marks and page map. For a print shop, choose a sheet from A0 to a 36″ roll: the pieces are packed onto as few sheets as they will fit on, and if one is too big for the sheet the maker says so. Every piece here is a rectangle or a strip, so the cutting list above is enough and you can skip printing. How printing, tiling and the test square work.
